The University Libraries at the University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Archivist 2. This position is also available for underfill at the Archivist 1 level. The position will be part of the Basque Library and Special Collections and University Archives team, reporting to the Head of the Basque Library.

Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Archivist 2 in the University Libraries. The Archivist 2 will be part of the Basque Library and Special Collections and University Archives team, reporting to the Head of the Basque Library. This position will provide collection development of digital collections; manage intellectual property, rights assessment and licensing permissions; provide arrangement and description support; may train student employee(s) on collection arrangement; oversee fulfillment of patron orders of reproductions and provide reference desk and department support.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in archives management, library science, history, information management or closely related field and one year of professional archival experience which included one or more of the following: appraisal, disposition, rights management, accessioning, arrangement/processing, description, preservation, conservation of archival materials, outreach and/or reference services; OR
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in archives management, library science, history, information management or closely related field and two years of professional experience as described above; OR
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional experience as described above; OR
One year of experience as an Archivist I in Nevada State service; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Compensation Grade
Grade 33 (Entry, Step 01 $25.57/hr; Step 05 $30.32/hr; Step 10 $37.78)
The classified employee pay scale is divided into 10 steps. Most employees start at a step 1 and are eligible for an annual step increase with satisfactory performance, until they reach the maximum, step 10. Initial step placement is based on experience and qualifications. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity and budgets.
