The U.S. Army War College is seeking a director for the U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center.
About the Position: Become a part of the largest graduate professional military education institution in the nation! This is a full-time faculty position as provided under Title 10 USC 4021. Initial appointment may be up to four years, the first of which may be a trial period. The appointment may be renewed in increments up to five years thereafter. Salary will be based on the selectee's academic credentials, experience, and professional accomplishments.
Duties
* You will serve as Director of of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (AHEC).
AHEC is a national resource comprising an extensive archive of soldier memoirs, photographs and unit records; a high-quality museum; and the largest library in the U.S. Army.
* As part of the U.S. Army War College, AHEC provides historical support to graduate professional military education courses, engages with the American public, and supports national and international researchers.
* You will provide leadership and strategic vision, plan, direct, and administer all programs and activities of the Center, including archival, library, museum, public and educational programs.
* Manage a diverse workforce and organizational budget.
* Maintain close working relationships with the other schools, centers, institutes, and programs that comprise the U.S. Army War College.
* Develop cooperative relationships and partnership ventures with academic and other institutions in support of the AHECs mission and goals.
* Conduct extensive public relations in support of the AHEC mission.
* Work closely with the supporting non-profit Army Heritage Foundation.

- This is a full-time term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 4 years starting on or about summer 2024. Appointment may be extended in one- to five-year increments thereafter. As a term employee you will be eligible for medical insurance, life insurance, retirement, dental and vision. You will be eligible earn annual leave and sick leave.
