Minimum Qualifications:
Six years of professional archives experience OR a master's degree in archives, records management, library science, information science, folklore, ethnomusicology, history, public history, sound engineering or related fields
Preferences:
Certified Archivist; Certified Digital Archives Specialist; OR Certified in Arrangement and Description.
At least one year of professional full-time experience digitizing legacy audio according to FADGI standards.
Demonstrated experience and familiarity with legacy audio formats such as open reel magnetic tape, cassettes, and digital audio tapes.
Demonstrated experience with descriptive cataloging according to best-practices and standards.
At least one year of professional full-time experience working WaveLab or similar audio mastering software.
At least one year of professional full-time experience in folklore or oral history fieldwork.
Completed coursework or workshops in archives or records management outside of a completed degree or certification.
At least one year of full-time experience working in archives reference, archives collections management, archival appraisal, archives preservation/conservation and/or archives public programs in a formally established archival program (e.g., municipal, county, state, or national, historical society, university, corporate, etc.)
At least one year of full-time experience working in Florida government.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates digital master files of historical sound, video, and other recordings housed in the State Library and Archives using professional archival guidelines and techniques employed in the preservation of this type of media.
Assists in providing enhanced public access and online access (Florida Memory website) to State Library & Archives sound recordings. Assists in creating content for the Florida Memory website.
Assists in developing and implementing long-range plans for storage of master digital files.
Provides basic research assistance to State Library and Archives patrons, including locating audio material in various collections and assistance in the use of equipment and assorted audio formats.
Performs other work-related duties as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of archival practice and theory associated with sound recordings.
Ability to work with (identify, duplicate, digitize) a variety of historical sound formats.
Ability to operate and maintain sound recording equipment.
Determining work priorities and ensuring proper, timely completion of work assignments.
Ability to keep accurate records of work activities.
Using a computer and automated databases.
