Description of Job
This position is responsible for all aspects of managing digital archival records including acquiring (either by transferring or creating), ingesting, cataloging, accessing and preserving. Position will serve as SME for born digital and digitized records of all formats and be responsible for maintaining legal authenticity and permanent access in accordance to best professional practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 
Digital Preservation - Perform quality control of digital records and develop procedures and workflows for ongoing preservation of digital records. Work with Collections and Reference Desk Supervisors to develop, prioritize and oversee digitization projects. Strategize and plan for future technology, digital records challenges and growth. Develop relationship with OIT and other stakeholders to successfully ingest and migrate permanent digital records to the Archives Digital Repository. Work with Records Management Team to evaluate, develop and implement temporary digital records storage and access program (digital records center). Work with the Collections team to coordinate accessions, preservation and access of digital assets.  Content Management Systems - Assist Collections Supervisor as needed with arranging, describing and incorporating records into RE:Discovery as needed. Coordinate standards and workflows between content management and preservation repository

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

At least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in History, Art History, English, Museum Studies or a field of study related to the work assignment OR additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. 
AND
At least one year of professional experience in in the basic appraising, arranging, and/or preservation of archival materials, and/or archival program management. 

Preferred Qualifications:


Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position
MLIS (Masters of Library and Information Science), MLS (Masters of Library Science), MA (Master of Arts) in a related field such as museum studies, English, history, public history, anthropology, archaeology.
CA (Certified Archivist), DAS (Digital Archives Specialist), CRA (Certified Records Analyst), or CRM (Certified Records Manager) certifications.
Excellent customer service skills
Experience working in an archival repository, library, or related environment
Independent self starter and skilled team member
Organization and research skills
Experience with Preservica or similar digital repository systems
Experience with Archive-It or other web crawlers for preservation of websites
Knowledge of digital preservation challenges, trends and best practices
Conditions of Employment:

A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.

Effective September 20, 2021, employees will be required to attest to and verify whether or not they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Employees who have not been fully vaccinated may be required to submit to serial testing in the future. Upon hire, new employees will have three (3) business days to provide attestation to their status with proof of vaccination. Vaccinated employees must provide proof of vaccination.

Note: Fully Vaccinated means two (2) weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series of the COVID-19 vaccine, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two (2) weeks after the single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine, as defined by the most recent State of Colorado’s Public Health Order and current guidance issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.
