Overview

We are looking for a Preservation Consultant to help drive the success of the Federal Reserve’s archives program by preparing and ingesting materials in our digital preservation system, motivating and assisting other ingesters, and promoting the successes attained by the Fed's preservation work.

This is a part-time, 20 hours per week, 6-month position with an end date. Remote options available for candidates who meet certain criteria.

Responsibilities
Support the digital preservation & ingest work of archivists across the Federal Reserve System
identify preservation roadblocks
find new solutions to simplify preservation work
create training materials
deliver training sessions on new tools and processes
Process and ingest archival materials in the Bank’s digital preservation system
Document the status and success of the Federal Reserve’s archives program by preparing reports on ingest activity and usage of historical materials and developing internal blog posts
Additional duties will be assigned as needed; this description is not intended to provide an exhaustive list of the duties of this position.

Qualifications

Excellent presentation and written communication skills and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders
3+ years’ experience working in the Digital Archives field; or Master's degree in History or Library Science with formal course work or training in Archival Studies
Certification from the Academy of Certified Archivists or Digital Archives Specialist certification from the Society of American Archivists (preferred)
