The Academy of Certified Archivists is pleased to announce its newly-elected officers for 2012-2013. Margery Sly, Director of Special Collections at Temple University, has been elected ACA Vice President/President-Elect. Todd Welch, Digital Access Librarian at Northern Arizona University, will serve a two-year term as Treasurer. Joining them on the Academy’s Board of Regents will be Tomaro Taylor, Archivist at the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute Research Library at the University of South Florida, who will serve as Regent for Exam Development, and Courtney Chartier, Assistant Head of the Archives Research Center at Robert W. Woodruff (Atlanta University Center), who was selected Regent for Outreach. Helen Wong Smith, Pacific Island Network Archivist at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, was chosen to serve on the Nominating Committee. The regents and Wong Smith will also serve two-year terms.
The new officers will assume office at the close of the Academy’s business meeting, which will be held Thursday, August 9, 2012, during the Society of American Archivists’ annual meeting in San Diego. They will join Incoming President Laura McLemore, Secretary Shaun Boyd, Regent for Certification Maintenance Kristy Sorenson, Regent for Exam Administration Daphne DeLeon, and Mat Darby, Nominating Committee Chair. Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to everyone who was willing to run and make the offer of service to the Academy, and to everyone who voted.
